The Maintenance Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for the operational delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance services for a commercial fleet of 7,000 vehicles across the UK. You will ensure the fleet remains safe, legally compliant, and operationally available by coordinating servicing, MOTs, and breakdown response in partnership with external providers and an approved supplier network. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT
• You lead, manage, and develop a team of Fleet Maintenance Agents and Breakdown Response Agents
• You oversee scheduling and delivery of routine servicing, MOTs, and safety inspections
• You ensure compliance with service intervals and resolve exceptions promptly
• You manage breakdown response operations, monitor partner performance, and act as escalation point
• You manage supplier networks and conduct regular performance reviews
• You own the maintenance budget, produce management reports, and support cost control initiatives
YOUR SKILLS MATTER
• Experience You have proven leadership experience in fleet maintenance, transport, or automotive environments
• Compliance You understand commercial vehicle compliance requirements, including MOT and safety inspections
• Organisation You excel in prioritisation and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously
• Commercial Awareness You have experience managing budgets and supplier cost negotiations
• Communication You communicate effectively across teams and external partners
• Tech-savvy You are confident using fleet management systems and data reporting tools
